Transformative advances in materials science are crucial to realizing the next frontiers in quantum technology. Atomic-scale control will enable new approaches to engineering quantum interactions, protecting coherence, and accessing emerging phases of matter. My group will manipulate quantum defects and heterostructures through a synthesis-based approach, enabling atomic precision from the bottom up rather than relying on stochastic formation processes. My research will integrate growth and processing with quantum measurements to directly probe the material environment and create quantum platforms with exquisite control over interactions and coherence. I strive to build an inclusive and collaborative environment that tackles emerging problems at the intersection of materials and quantum science.
